Born and raised in Warrnambool, Jacqui moved to Melbourne to pursue a career in music, heavily influenced by her love of Australian indie pop artists including Montaigne, Vera Blue and Kate Miller-Heidke. Jacqui Lumsden is an accomplished songwriter and artist, having won such awards as the Darebin Songwriting Award and The Emerging Artist Award at the Festival of Sails this year. She has released a string of sparkling singles demonstrating a strong, versatile ability to craft songs that speak directly to the heart of the listener. Now, Jacqui is finally launching her highly anticipated debut EP ‘Enthusiasm’. The 5 track EP is an exploration of relationships, extroversion and escapism. Sonically it embraces retro, ‘80s synths, driving electric guitars and modern, textured production. It seems like the world is finally catching up to Jacqui’s talents, as she develops her craft even further with each new release – Jacqui Lumsden is only just getting started.
