It’s Prine Time – The Lyric Genius of John Prine

Universally recognised by peers as the songwriter’s songwriter, John Prine’s songs are known for their subtle and unique view of the variables of the human condition; the enigma that is America, and his personal journey – “the Mark Twain of songwriting.

Discovered by Kris Kristofferson in a Chicago folk club, his first album “John Prine”, in 1971 included the classics “Hello In There”, “Sam Stone”, “Paradise” and “Angel From Montgomery”. His course was set, and across his Grammy-winning multi-album career, he has created his own much-covered and much-honored, folk/country, Americana Songbook.

Performed by iconic Australian folk singer Mike McClellan, beloved Melbourne songstress Suzannah Espie, and an all-star band led by rising Americana star and Music Director, Lachlan Bryan, “IT’S PRINE TIME” is a grand celebration of a remarkable artist – a true genius in fact.
