Connoisseurs of sharp storytelling and infectious pop-laced indie rock, Slowly Slowly will be busting out new and old tunes all over the country this August, September and October.
Fresh from slaying the stage at Australia’s Full Tilt Festival and their Nothing On capital city headline shows, alongside dropping their commanding recent single Forget You and an acoustic outing with singer-songwriter Shannen James, Melbourne rockers Slowly Slowly are keeping the momentum going with the news of an extensive 17-date regional Australian tour, taking their potent live show on the road from the Gold Coast to Hobart and Darwin – and practically everywhere in between.
The follow up to their Nothing On tour in late May, with James along as main support, this upcoming tour will kick off on the Gold Coast on August 5, before visiting Sunshine Coast, Belgrave, Torquay, Frankston, Newcastle, Avalon, Wollongong, Hobart, Camden, Croydon, Darwin, Ballarat, Canberra, Cairns and Townsville before finishing up in Mackay on October 8.
Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around the region here.
A chance for Slowly Slowly to connect with fans across the country, including an under 18s gig in Croydon, while continuing their golden run in 2022, the impending regional shows also provide an opportunity to visit new and favourite places for the band, as vocalist and guitarist Ben Stewart explains: “This year we want to see some new parts of Australia and return to some of our favourite spots. Some of our fondest memories are in these towns – it’s time to replace them with new ones. It’s been a while between drinks and we are stoked to be back on the road again.”
And while anyone who has ever attended a Slowly Slowly show can attest to the quartet’s immersive live prowess in any setting, the under 18s show in Croydon on Friday 16 September marks an extra-special addition for the band personally, with the town and venue holding a particularly important place in Stewart’s musical journey: Croydon is where I grew up and we’ll be playing at the venue where I played my first ever show at age 15. That was why we insisted it go on the tour!”
