Piano Bar Geelong brings Laneway Jazz to Minns Place.
The last few weeks have been pretty amazing in regional Victoria. Life has returned to the city centres; restaurants have actual diners, pubs are pouring beers, boot camps are running outdoors, retail stores are open, and beauty services are back in action.
One venue ensuring the good vibes keep flowing is Geelong’s famed Piano Bar, who are going above and beyond to showcase Geelong’s burgeoning music scene.
While we recently reported that the team had were collaborating with the Geelong Racing Club, running a Piano Bar Marquee with live music over the weekends, the Piano Bar team are also running outdoor performances three days a week to Little Malop Street, after working with the City of Greater Geelong to finalise a proposal for use of Minns Place in the CBD.
Bringing the laneway to life, the Piano Bar is also running an outdoor jazz-themed entertainment space, called ‘Laneway Jazz’ between midday and 6pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Guests are being entertained with a rotating schedule of free performances, offering local musicians an opportunity to return to the live stage.
A pop-up bar is also operating from a vacant building on Minns Place, while patrons are being encouraged to support local business by ordering food from nearby venues. The laneway has the capacity to host 50 guests seated in line with the Victorian Government’s density requirements.
This follows Piano Bars continued commitment to the Geelong music scene, hosting countless live steam performances throughout both round of restrictions. Delivering the unparalleled atmosphere that only a piano bar delivers direct to the home of viewers, the digital events featured all the things we love about our nights at Piano Bar – drags, magicians, piano performances, and a number of special guest artists.
It’s time to support local, get around these absolute legends, and start singing at the top of your lungs to all those guilty pleasures.
