No, that’s not a typo. This multi-award-winning pub, renowned for its outstanding food and extensive wine and beer list, has indeed introduced Korean barbecue to its menu, becoming Bendigo’s first Korean barbecue venue.

With a passion for great food and even better beer, Cambrian Hotel has been reinvented in recent years thanks to owners Adam and Andrew Carswell and their dedication to the independent beer industry. Striving to embody the industry’s down-to-earth, honest, ethical and inclusive character for almost ten years, now the Cambrian Hotel is upping the ante when it comes to the dining experience, gifting both Bendigo locals and tourists alike the opportunity to indulge in mouth-watering BBQ dishes alongside the pub classics.

Who’d have ever guessed?! Korean Barbecue at regional Australia’s best-loved and most respected independent beer pub.

Focusing on authentic Korean BBQ’d food, the best element of an authentic Korean BBQ restaurant are the grills at each table, so you can eagerly watch your dinner sizzle before it lands piping hot on your plate. And that’s exactly what you’ll find at the Cambrian Hotel.

If you’ve never been to a Korean BBQ before, the aim of the game is to pick a staple and with it comes delicious sauces, and a range of side dishes (think pickled radish, kimchi, coleslaw, fishcakes) to help you create the very best meal. Sticking to tradition, The Cambrian Hotel are offering expertly marinated and sliced beef, pork and lamb alongside a beautiful arrangement of these considments and side dishes for just $40 per person. There’s a minimum of two people per group and the offering is available from Tuesday to Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch.

There’s also additional Korean dishes and the hotel’s award-winning regular menu on offer too, so there’s no chance of anyone leaving here hungry.

While they are perhaps the first Australian pub to introduce Korean Barbecue into the fabric, it’s actually not entirely a surprise from this particular hotel. The Carswell brothers have long been involved with the Australian Korean community, and have had the opportunity to appreciate Korean food for more than 35 years through their adopted Korean sister. This means they have been able to launch their offering backed up by a real appreciation and knowledge of Korean food and flavours.

There’s a lot to love about that.

Already the new addition of Korean Barbecue has seen the hotel inundated with bookings for the past few weeks, while their social media post announcing its arrival (unsurprisingly) attracted thousands across the region.

Already garnering epic reviews, including comments like “better than anything we’ve had in Melbourne”, this is certainly an experience you won’t want to miss.

Cambrian Hotel Bendigo is located at 200 Arnold Street, Bendigo.
