Imogen Clark Locks in Ararat Show

Alt country/Americana artist Imogen Clark stuck gold when she released her third EP, Stories from a Porcelain City.

Lead single ‘Ceaseless Goodbye’ was shortlisted for APRA’s prestigious Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition, while an Honourable Mention nod was received in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition.

Later, she signed with Lost Highway Australia, launched in 2014 by Universal Music Australia as the local leg of the original Lost Highway Records and home to Shane Nicholson, Ruby Boots, Mustered Courage and Catherine Britt. Love & Lovely Lies is the singer songwriter’s debut full length release.

Imogen: “I love this album. It’s definitely the thing I’m proudest to put my name on so far in my life. I had a big hand in producing it myself and I’d never done that on a record before. I produced it with two great artists – Harry Hookey and Jack Hookey. We worked on it and played all the instruments together. I’ve never had a record that represented me more. It really is a snapshot of me at 20 and 21 years of age, and I’m really proud of it.”

Imogen will perform at The Red Room, Ararat on August 17 as part of Ararat Live. Love & Lovely Lies is out now.
