I’m Very Ape

If you dig your primates, then you have probably heard about The Yard Apes at some point in your existence. If you have not, you should give them a listen. Hailing from Ballarat, the rockin’ and rollin’ three-piece feast on themes of insanity, isolation and getting loose – and who among us has never experienced one or all of those things? Sometimes in one weekend.

Now, the band loves making music for the world to hear and they are hoping to get their second release, Should’ve Stayed Home, out on vinyl. This is where you come in. The band has started a Pozible campaign to raise the funds necessary to do this. The deal is they’re hoping to press 150 12inch copies, complete with full colour printed cardboard sleeves. And to think you could be one of those 150 people. Seven billion people in the world and you could be one of 150.

The album was recorded and produced by Raul Sanchez, he of Magic Dirt, River of Snakes and Midnight Woolf. That alone should be recommendation enough. You can buy in for as little as $13, with full rewards and information through pozible.com/project/203102. You have until February 29. You can also check them out at The Eastern, Ballarat on Valentine’s Day, February 14.
