ICYMI, a Gin Garden has popped up on Geelong’s Pier

Gin, glorious gin!

If you’re looking for something to fill you with pure bliss, there’s not much that can beat reclining back after a hard day’s work on a sunny lounger with an overflowing G&T or tasty cocktail, especially for the gin-lovers out there.

If this kind of pure bliss is what you have eagerly been waiting for these last few months, then you’ll be pleased to know that Geelong has scored a gin garden on the waterfront!

Tucked away in the former Hopetoun Room on Geelong’s Pier, this gin haunt opened in September last year and is lined with comfy couches, fresh foliage, and stunning views of the bay, making it the ultimate afternoon delight.

While the view is second to none, it’s, of course, the bar stock that we’re excited about. With an impressive gin collection, you can sample some of the best gin made right here in the region, stocking local gins from across The Great Ocean Road and The Bellarine.

If you’re looking for a G&T, the Gin Garden have four different gins on offer – Bellarine Teddy and the Fox, Bellarine Old Dodger – Navy Strength, Great Ocean Road Guvvos and the Great Ocean Road Raspberry Gin. Once you pick your gin, you can then decide on the mix – ginger beer, elderflower tonic, aromatic tonic, grapefruit soda or Yuzu soda. Simple as that!

If cocktails are more your forte, they’ve got a few gin-based choices to choose from. For something sweet, the ‘Whisper Sweet Nothing’ looks the goods, with Guvvos gin, fresh lemon, raspberry kombucha and fairy floss. If you’re looking for something refreshing, we recommend the ‘Garden Mojito’, complete with raspberry gin, lime juice, pink Moscato, soda, fresh mint and strawberries. Yum!

No afternoon is complete without some delicious food and the Gin Garden have you covered with several Mexican inspired garden plates and wholesome garden platters with cheese, seafood, vegan delights or tasty dips. There are even Nutella nachos and a baked cheesecake on the menu if you feel like treating yo’self.

Whether you’re a gin aficionado or a recent addition to the fan club (perhaps after one too many isolation benders on the vodka), you can’t go past a drinking destination like this!

The Gin Garden is open from 2pm until late Friday to Saturday. Bookings are required via the website.
