The club where paparazzi images of early 2000's celebrities including Paris Hilton hung on the wall, Home House will be no more.
Geelong’s most iconic central nightclub, Home House is reaching the end of an era, announcing it’s closure after 22 years.
In an announcement posted to social media late Friday night (4 October), the multi-level, all-night club owned by former Geelong Mayor and Mr Paparrazzi, Darryn Lyons, will bid farewell with a final epic party on 23 November.
The statement reads, “THE END OF AN ERA. After nearly 22 amazing years at our iconic location, we’re sad to announce that we will be closing our doors at the end of November. While it’s bittersweet, this isn’t goodbye forever—just the end of a chapter. But we couldn’t go out without one last EPIC HOUSE PARTY! Join us on November 23rd for our biggest celebration yet, with drink specials and an epic lineup of DJs (to be announced soon!). Tickets go on sale October 7th—don’t miss out on your chance to party with us one last time at this legendary spot! We can’t wait to celebrate with you all, just like the good ol’ days !!! Across the past 22 years, Home House has been a favourite of the Geelong nightclub scene as one of the only places that stays open until close to sunrise. Known for their focus on electronic music, the club has attracted some of the world’s hottest headliners in the DJ world including Ruby Rose, Joel Fletcher, Will Sparks, Stafford Brothers, Timmy Trumpet, Tommy Trash and Fedde Le Grand.
Whether it is simply a rebrand move, a relocation or a something more juicy, the post suggests that the closure is not something of permanence.
Alas, celebrate the final days of Home House over the next month and join the mega celebration on 23 November. Tickets are due to go on sale today.
