Ian Moss: Live at The Capital Theatre

Considered by many to be one of Australia’s most iconic musicians, Ian ‘Mossy’ Moss returned to Bendigo for his solo acoustic tour, showcasing decades of experience and expertise as an artist in the upper echelons of Australian music.

To perform to a packed-out theatre as a solo acoustic act is no easy task, entertaining and captivating such an audience with only one self’s stage presence must be a challenge, the presence must be powerful. And Ian Moss’ presence is exactly that, powerful! But not just powerful, also delicate and passionate. Articulate and soothing in a unique way, there is a reason why Mossy is revered among Australian artists.

Being in his 60s, some would expect Mossy to start to slow down but what I witnessed while watching Mossy perform was an out-pour of energy, an intense connection to the music he has created, he pushes through like the Australian warrior he is. Vocally Mossy has quite an impressive range, capable of hitting high fragile notes to invoke further connection the music, along with absolutely jaw-dropping skills on the guitar.

Mossy exhibits raw passion and experience in a show that doesn’t need all the ‘bells and whistles’ to create a unique connection with the audience, himself and his music. It is an experience worthy of your eyes and ears.
