Huge Lineup Of International Acts Announced For Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2017

A slew of some of the biggest and funniest names in comedy are making the trek over to Melbourne for the 2017 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Highlights include the brilliant Ruby Wax (USA) who’ll be bringing a tour of the mind, armed with her acclaimed one-woman show based on her best-selling book A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled. 

From the UK, Jenny Eclair will return to the Comedy Festival for the first time since 2013, with a new show that puts ageing under the microscope. Richard Gadd will be making his Australian debut, exploring the comical side of mental illness while worldwide festival favourites Abandoman will also make their Melbourne debut.

Melbourne favourite David O’Doherty will be returning with a new show, as well as the satirical Andy Zaltzman analysing the world’s problems.

Further highlights include the acclaimed Josie Long, Kieran Hodgson, Paul Foot and Larry Dean, Loyiso Gola, Mae Martin with her new show Dope, and more.

Rounding it out come a series of showcases, including New Order – featuring comedy trailblazers including Ahir Shah, Emma Sidi and more – alongside Headliners championing the best of North American comedy. Comedy Zone Asia returns for its third year, as well as the Bengaluru Comedy Festival Showcase, bringing the best of India’s burgeoning comedy scene to Melbourne.
