‘House of the Rising Song: Bridge Folk Night’: Haven City & Mon Coeur.

The Bridge Hotel presents, House of The Rising Song – a semi-regular singer-songwriter night.

The first in the series featuring Haven City & Mon Coeur

With witty humour and genre bending progressions, Haven City’s heartfelt music is a blend of folk, pop and organic rock. Growing up with the sounds of Kate Miller-Heidke and Crowded House, their confessional and dreamy lyrics are matched seamlessly with ear worm guitar hooks and angelic harmonies. Come on down to the mellow tunes of Haven City.

The voice of Mon Coeur is an idiosyncratic journey through melody and lyricism. Tales of love, loss, the search and the journey delivered in resonant alto. Her earthy mix of pop, folk and jazz vocal styles is raw and floral, reflecting her upbringing in the Central Victorian Goldfields. With Influences ranging from Karen Dalton, Feist, The Everly Brothers, Sharon Van Etten to Florence and the Machine; Mon Coeur’s songwriting and vocalisation is largely inspired by the romanticism of the everyday goings on around us and her passion for exploring the stream of consciousness. After spending some time performing in bands such as Luna Deville, Skyscraper Stan and Tailor Birds; supporting the likes of Marlon Williams, D.D Dumbo, Angie McMahon, Admiral Fallow (UK), The Wagons and Anthonie Tonnon (NZ), Mon Coeur is a singer songwriter with bite and well geared to venture solo.
