Can’t find the perfect place to listen to triple j’s Hottest 100? Or simply wanna kick back and relax on your long weekend? Well, we want you to make the most of it and have selected the best events to enjoy your couple of days of freedom.

2021 Sounds Better Together

There is no doubt in our minds that you’ve been missing a good live show. So why not join some of the best homegrown talent in a COVIDsafe concert series! ‘2021 Sounds Better Together’ presents an amazing line up including Jimmy Barnes, Tones and I, Daryl Braithwaite, Missy Higgins and more as you get your live music fix. Shows start on Saturday, January 23rd at Mt Duneed Estate in Geelong and will continue on at other venues till the 30th. We couldn’t think of a better way to take on this long weekend so grab your tickets quick!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Trivia Night

Attention squad! Get locked and loaded and scream ‘NINE-NINE’ cause the Pelican Bar are bringing to you a Brooklyn Nine-Nine themed trivia night. On Sunday January 24, you and your team will face off against other B99 buffs over three rounds of questions based off the hit cop sitcom. Tickets will go faster than Terry can open a tub of yogurt so get in quick for this toit night!

Australia Day Eve at The Inn

Why would you ever say no to drinks on a Monday? Come down to The Inn this long weekend to celebrate a stellar Australia Day Eve. Headliner Bec Grenfell and local supporting acts will have the carpark going off, as you down a couple of drinks and boogie to tunes all night long. The party is on January 25th from 1pm-1am, with tickets at $10 before 2pm or $15 after 2pm. The night won’t stop here either as Geelong Hotel will be hosting an epic kickons!

Triple j’s Hottest 100 @ Malt Shovel Taphouse Geelong

Geelong’s newest beer garden might just be your spot. Malt Shovel Taphouse, on the corner of Malop & Bellerine St, is laying out an emporium of thirst-quenching craft beers as you countdown Triple J’s Hottest 100 for 2020. Filled with music, cocktails, cold brews and an abundance of delicious food, this place has got you covered. Entry is free and starts at 12pm!

The Inn’s Hottest 100 Car Park Party

Could it really get any better than The Inn’s annual Hottest 100 party? Grab a cold one with your mates this Saturday and drink away your votes as we count down the biggest hits of a crazy year. The Hottest 100 countdown will be broadcasted live throughout the venue and car park from 12pm on January 23rd. Entry is limited, with tickets at $20 before 1pm and $25 after.

Ballarat Art Gallery

Fancy a road trip this weekend? Make your way down to Ballarat to enjoy some of the best of what it has to offer. The Art Gallery of Ballarat is hosting a special exhibit by artist Marcia King exploring the challenges of communication during COVID. The series of drawings created will humour you and also touch a soft spot as they capture our strange methods of social interaction in this current state. While you’re there be sure to also check out the town’s finest food and drinks at the Red Lion Hotel, The Main Bar and Hydrant Food.

Dave Hughes & Dave O’Neil Comedy Night

Two of Australia’s funniest comedians are going to be coming down to Lorne to share this Australia Day weekend with you. Dave Hughes and Dave O’Neil are here and promise to tickle your funny bones at their unmissable comedy night. Enjoy an exceptional night full of laughs with these two starting at 8:30pm on 23rd January at the Lorne Hotel. Check out the website for further information and to purchase tickets!

Lamby’s Long Weekend Sesh

This Geelong icon is making up for all the lost nights in 2020, with a sesh that is bigger than ever. Starting on January 22nd Lambys will be reopening with a fresh new look that is guaranteed to have been worth the wait. The place will be open on Friday to Monday till 3am every night, kicking off with some of the best live bands and DJs. Don’t forget that Tuesday is a public holiday, so why not make it a much-deserved bender? Doors open at 9pm with free entry before 10pm, so get in early!
