Great Ocean Road Gin will reopen their Torquay location tomorrow

Words by Staff Writer

Only four months after their shock closure as the business went into administration, Great Ocean Road Gin are back!

Great Ocean Road Gin fast became a staple of the Surf Coast distillery scene, opening their gin room as a safe space for locals, tourists and members of the LGBTQIA+ Community. It was a massive shock to the local community then when on 24 May 2024 that they announced their immediate closure with the business going into administration.

In some great news for the independent, family-owned business that Great Ocean Road Gin announces its return! The Torquay distillery cellar door will reopen this Saturday 21 September from 2pm – 6pm, welcoming old customers, familiar locals and new faces to their home.

Great Ocean Road Gin Torquay

  • Where: 1/8 Sawmills Way, Torquay
  • When: From Saturday 21 September, 2p – 6pm

Keep up with the latest food and booze news across the region here.

To celebrate, they have partnered with an exciting new app based company Local Pegs to provide 40% off all drinks and take home bottles for Surf Coast locals. They are offering the same gin varieties that we love, including their Shiraz Gin, Guvvos Contemporary Dry Gin, Distillery Creek Gin, South East Meets South West Gin, Raspberry Gin Liquor, and the Split Point Navy Gin, along with their tropical vodka, Blood Orange Spritz and Lemon-Cello varieties.

There will be plenty of gin, local beer and wine, and Eddie Deli Food Truck will be on-site to keep you both fed and hydrated and from 4pm until the 6pm close, DJ Dangerboots will be spinning the decks. The best part – it’s free entry for all!

It’s a welcome return of business for an industry that has sadly lost a number of brewing friends over the last twelves months. Now is the time to get behind Great Ocean Road Gin and give them a warm welcome back!
