Glass Animals have been a fan favourite of Australia with ‘Heat Waves’ crowned the winner of triple j’s Hottest 100, topping the Australian singles chart for six consecutive weeks and going #1 on the ARIA Top 100 Singles for the year of 2021. The 2020 album from which the track was birthed Dreamland became critically revered as a Gold ARIA Accredited release. The record-breaking ‘Heat Waves’ became the biggest international hit from a British band in almost 30 years and is now x19 Platinum ARIA Accredited. It followed on from the love of the honeysuckle single ‘Gooey’ which also dipped into the triple j hottest 100 pool.

Frontman Dave Bayley shares, “Australia. We love you so f***ing much. When we first came to tour over there, we only had like four songs. So we played them twice. And you forgave us. And then you gave us our first ever hottest 100 success with ‘Gooey’. And then you embraced ‘Heat Waves’ so hard I tattooed the shape of Australia on my arse cheek. It is my only tattoo. I forget it’s there sometimes and it startles me when I get out of my bubble bath. But it makes me v happy. And I feel the same announcing this new Australian tour. The same happiness I feel when looking at my arse in the mirror. See you soon.”

Now Glass Animals gear up for the release of their highly-anticipated follow-up I Love You So F***king Much. Due out on 19 July 2024, ILYSFM is an expansive record about love in all its shapes and forms, befit with retro-futuristic production that further leans into their alt-pop pool. The recently released singles ‘A Tear In Space (Airlock)’ and ‘Creatures in Heaven’ already have fans in a chokehold ready for the live translation.
