While the selection process is competitive (this is a comedy festival, after all), there’s a big soft spot for local talent. So if you’re from the Geelong region and have a tight five, a weird one-person show, or just something a bit quirky up your sleeve – chuck your hat in the ring.

But wait, there’s more comedic news…

Friday Night Comedy has a new home!

Comedy in Geelong just levelled up. Friday Night Comedy is officially moving into its brand-new digs at the iconic Nash Hotel, kicking off from May 9, and trust us – this space is going to be the go-to for laughs.

To celebrate the launch, they’ve lined up a seriously cracking first month of talent, including:

  • Andrew Hansen – Yep, that Andrew from The Chaser’s War on Everything
  • Blake Pavey – TikTok king with 1.2 million+ fans and counting
  • Sonia Di Iorio – As seen on The Project
  • Greg Fleet – Aussie comedy royalty and MICF fave
  • Kate Corley – Fresh off a sold-out Melbourne International Comedy Festival run
  • Jeremy Dooley – Another MICF sell-out!

And that’s just the start. There’s a rotating roster of funny humans coming through the doors, so every week’s a new reason to ditch the couch and head out for a laugh.

Tickets are just $25 and the first month is on sale now

So whether you’re hitting the mic or just hitting the bar for a beer and some belly laughs, Geelong’s comedy scene is thriving – and you don’t wanna miss it.
