Calling all dog lovers and families! The highly anticipated Paws for GAWS Dog Walk is just around the corner.
This fun-filled community event is a fantastic way to show your support for the incredible work done by the Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS), all while enjoying a relaxed day out with your four-legged friends.
Spots are filling up fast, so now’s the time to register and secure your place in the fun! Paws for GAWS is a vibrant celebration of animal welfare, our shared love for our pets, and the importance of community connection.
Paws for GAWS
- When: Sunday 2 March, registrations open 9am and walk begins at 10am

The 4km walk will take participants along the scenic Geelong Waterfront, looping back to the starting point at the Eastern Park BBQ Area. It’s a perfect outing for both you and your pooch to enjoy the great outdoors, all while supporting a great cause!
Exciting Activities Include:
- Pooch Parade: Dress up your dog and enter them into one of three fun categories – Best Dressed, Waggiest Tail, or Best Trick. It’s a free entry for you and your pup, and you never know, your dog might just win a prize!
- Raffle: Enter for a chance to win some pawsome prizes! The draw includes a night’s accommodation at Rydges Geelong with dinner for two at Nautica, a $100 voucher to spend at PetStock, and a coffee machine thanks to Harvey Norman Corio and Waurn Ponds.
- Kids Entertainment & Face Painting: There’s something for the little ones too! Enjoy free face painting with fun poochy designs, bubble stations, games, and more.
- Dog Grooming: Pamper your pooch with a grooming session to make them feel paw-some!
- Dog Treat Stall: Treat your dog to wholesome and tasty goodies they’ll love.
- GAWS Op Shop Stall: Show your support for GAWS and pick up some bargains for your furry friend at the op shop stall!
Whether you’re walking with your dog, entering them into the pooch parade, or just soaking in the fun atmosphere, Paws for GAWS is an event you won’t want to miss.
