Launching for the first time in 2019, the Christmas Festival of Lights was a spectacle that saw crowds flock to see the magic of Christmas come to life in a dazzling glowing wonderland, giving families, couples and friends a chance to truly embrace that festival spirit.

Hailed as Victoria’s largest Christmas Lights Festival, this year there’ll be a whopping 2.7 million shimmering lights over a 2km walking trail that will illuminate Geelong’s night sky once again with tickets on sale now.

This year has an additional 700k lights over a newly expanded walking trail, plus new rides and more awesome Christmas activities for the kids, including a brand new Lunar Lanterns Exhibit complete with oriental lanterns, a 20m long majestic dragon and animals from the zodiac in the parks undercover pavilion.

A bunch of new immersive and three-dimensional installations have been added to an already spectacular display celebrating all things Christmas, including a a 25m psychedelic tunnel, a Loch Ness Monster, enormous Angels and a Fantasyland with 12m smoke breathing dragon, 8m caterpillars and butterflies, just to name just a few.

These will join the already epic lights display the festival has accumulated over the years, including a majestic golden archway, enchanted gardens with a unicorn surrounded by stunning fields of flowers, fairy-tale scenes, North Pole Winter Wonderland with penguins, polar bears and snowmen, giant walk-through present, a Santa selfie, a candy land where gingerbread houses and lollies come to life, and a massive shooting star, plus loads more jaw-dropping installations that make for the most perfect photo opps!

Santa will return to the Park’s magical Christmas Cave where kids can write letters to the North Pole and have professional photos taken with the jolly man himself, while the South Barwon Salvation Army Band will be performing live on weeknights, delivering absolute magic to your ears.

As for the rides, the popular classic spinning Tea Cups ride and a unique Air Balloons ride will join the likes of the Crazy Coaster, Carousel, Red Baron, Little Buggy Speedway Cars, Wave Swinger and Ferris Wheel. Unfortunately, water rides will not be open during the Christmas Festival.

There will also be more food and beverage options this year, including a pizza bar and a drinks bar, plus christmas craft and free face painting for the kids and new Treetop Cabanas will be available for hire for the Christmas Festival of Lights event.

It’s a massive glowing wonderland full of enchanting trails, glistening paths, magical glittering bridges and dazzling displays, and not to be missed this Christmas!

The Christmas Festival of Lights will run daily from 27 November to 24 December 2021 from 6pm-10.30pm, and then 26 December 2021 to 9 January 2022 from 6:45pm-10:30pm at Adventure Park Geelong. Visit the website for tickets and info.
