Starting with the hardhitters of comedy, Geelong Comedy Festival will see favourite Tom Ballard return to the festival after a successful 2023 showcase. Having started as a presenter or triple j, Ballard has honed his comedic charm to have a significant career in the entertainment sector as a radio host, television presenter and stand-up comedian. The Warrnambool-raised comedian is known for his hilarious rants, quick quips and sociological commentary. He will be bringing his one-hour show of raving and ranting to Anabella’s on Saturday 2 November.
Anabella’s will also see the no BS brilliance of Geraldine Hickey taking to the stage the same night, as well as Taskmaster Australia funnyman Lloyd Langford. Both of their dry wit will have you in hysterics. Over at The Brewery, experience bogan tales from Brett Blake as he brings his Grip It and Rip It show and fabulous mullet to Geelong. Lizzy Hoo, Nath Valvo, Oliver Coleman and Bronwyn Kuss are some more names bringing their stand-up to the stages.
In addition, award-winning shows join the program including Gabby Anderson who will bring Billy T nominated show Bad(ish) Teacher, winner of the 2024 Geelong RAW heat, Chelsea Heaney will bring Big Pants, Chris Ryan presents Good-O and Winner of Directors’ Choice Award at Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2023, and nominee for the Most Outstanding Show at Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2024, Takashi Wakasugi offers Japanese Aussie.
This is just the icing on top! Geelong Comedy Festival is overflowing with must-see events. It’s a gigantic program worth jumping into.
