It has been a long wait but it looks as though bluesman Geoff Achison will finally give fans what they have been hoping for since 2008 – a new album.
It has been a while since the release of One Ticket, One Ride, but towards the end of 2015 he announced his intention to return to the studio.
As making an album isn’t cheap, and not everyone has the bank account of Adele, he took to Pozible in a campaign the ended yesterday.
The album is titled Another Mile, Another Minute, which Geoff lets us in on here: “I actually got the ball rolling back in October of 2015. I got serious about completing my demos, got the band together for rehearsals and booked us into HS45 Studio in Melbourne to begin the recording process in January. We’ve selected 13 new original songs including several which have been played at gigs … It’s not straight ahead blues (although there are some rippin’ blues riffs in there) and it’s not just a guitar album (although there is plenty of guitar work). It’s 14 original songs and I hope y’all like ’em.”
Workers Club, Geelong – August 5. You can also catch him at the Echuca-Moama Winter Blues Festival.
