General Public is bringing an epic new venue to Geelong with bars, an arcade, bowling and more

1 / 7

Groovy beats, sleek ten pin bowling lanes and the best digital arcade games are coming.

Good news – Geelong’s about to score an epic new entertainment venue with word that General Public is opening a new flagship facility in the region.

Looking to fill the gap in premium food, drink and entertainment venues in suburban Geelong, General Public – Melbourne’s only ‘eatertainery’ – is set to open in Corio Village Shopping Centre, bringing along bowling lanes, bars, billiards, arcade games, a restaurant and event spaces across a currently unused 2500sq m space (which we imagine is where the old bowling lanes used to be).

With two venues in Melbourne, in Dingley and Frankston, General Public is hailed as the perfect place to bring friends, family and colleagues together for a memorable and fun experience.

Created by the team behind Tunzafun, the ‘gram-worthy’ venues pack a whole lot of fun for all ages under one stylish roof with a combination of ten-pin bowling, couches for chilling, arcade games, lots of bright lights, pool tables, table tennis, beer garden, delicious menus with killer deals and fully equipped bars with all the best cocktails.

There’s even a slide if you can’t be bothered walking down the stairs at the Frankston venue.

The newest venue in the West is looking to open in mid-2023 and will include “11 ten-pin bowling alleys, Geelong’s biggest arcade centre, multiple cars serving up alcoholic drinks for adults, billiards tables, a suite of interactive games, a restaurant and private event space for both kids and adult parties.”

General Public Marketing Executive Jennifer Boulos said (in early February 2023) that works are progressing well onsite and their warehouse was filling with arcade games from overseas to be ready for installation.

“General Public will be a great fit for the centre and the precinct. Right from the start we have designed it to be a place for families to enjoy something for all ages under one stylish roof,” Miss Boulos said.

“Parents can come and relax with young children right through to teenagers and enjoy great food, and beverages and world class entertainment in what we call an ‘EATERTAINERY.”

Due to become the biggest of all the three General Public venues, this is certainly something to get excited about. Stay tuned for more info.
