Born with South Indian roots and raised in Singapore, Gloria’s journey has taken her through diverse musical landscapes, and her artistry reflects that. With the name Wild Gloriosa inspired by the flame lily, the state flower of Tamil Nadu, Gloria’s music is as much about connection and storytelling as it is about sound. For her, music is a way to connect with her community, and songwriting serves as a canvas for sharing messages with the world.
Her new single, All Wishes Come True, is a poignant reflection on friendship, jealousy, and the need to uplift each other. The track is backed by tasteful, restrained RnB and neo-soul production, allowing Gloria’s clear, liquid vocals to take centre stage. “What makes a friend, is it years and time or a silent trust that we both know we share? Why can’t we ascend together? Why can’t we uplift each other?” These lyrics beautifully capture the tension between friends when jealousy and competition threaten to pull them apart.
Gloria shares, “This song is a reflection of a friendship I had. One that consisted of one-sided jealousy. It’s a plea to that friend, wondering why we can’t both be successful together instead of pitting ourselves against each other.”
All Wishes Come True is released Thursday 20 March via Hopestreet Recordings, and to celebrate, Gloria will perform live at Barwyn Club in Geelong on Sunday 6 April. Tickets for the show are available now.
If that wasn’t enough, Wild Gloriosa’s upcoming EP Growing Pains is set for release on Thursday 24 April!
Mark your calendars for what promises to be another stunning collection from this blossoming artist.
