One of our all time favourite Geelong cafes have embarked on a wonderful initiative with a focus on promoting health, primarily concentrating on gut health by adding new drinks and food items to their incredible menu, with an aim to help people who are transitioning into a more healthy lifestyle.
Using fresh organic, bio-dynamic and locally sourced natural ingredients, the cafe are producing home-style cooked meals including warm soups, curries and salads, as well as providing great organic, ethical, sustainable Jasper Coffee with alternative Milks. In addition, the Sprout and Bean also have a wide range of Vegetarian and Vegan options and can also cater for the Gluten Free.
Cherie & Shaun, and the team at Sprout and Bean pride themselves on the use of organic produce and products, but also local ingredients that have been foraged or gifted (with the assurance of no spray and other nasties). The menu is plant based, with a different theme each day. For example – Thursday is Dragon Thursday (Asian Inspired), Friday Fri-Up is the perfect way to keep off a weekend with either Mexican or fried food. Saturday is for those with a sweet tooth, and Sunday is Soup – just what the doctor ordered to warm the soul as we head into those chilly winter months.
For you coffee lovers out there – the guys will still be serving up Jasper Coffee, but now with delicious homemade almond milk, allowing the team to cut down on waste. And in that vein, since COVID regulations have started to ease, Sprout and Bean will not be serving coffee in disposable cups, so people can sit in, bring clean reusables or join the legends at One Good Cup.
With fab renovations recently completed, the new Sprout and Bean is the perfect place for those looking for a cosy vibe, and the great news is the gang will still be providing a guitar and uke for anyone keen to join in on the jam sessions.
The Sprout and Bean kitchen is Open from 12pm til Late, and we’ve been assured the delicious Tofu Burger and famous Falafel Wrap will be staying on the menu too.
Shaun and Cherie have also hinted that they are working on an exciting new project to share with the community – which we cannot wait to hear more about. But in the meantime, head on down to the mighty Sprout and Bean and experience all that is on offer for yourself!
