Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

For the uninitiated, Jerkfest is a local one-day festival held at the Barwon Club celebrating all things punk, shoegaze and psych. Each year the festival features a stacked line-up of bands, curated by Anti Fade Records founder and event organiser Billy Gardner.

Returning for Jerkfest 7, Gardner has crafted an immaculate lineup of underground punk and alternative acts, including many of who were featured at last year’s rescheduled event. We’ll be seeing the likes of Melbourne Afrobeat quintet and self-proclaimed “rogue operators” Bananagun, Melbourne pop-rock outfit Parsnip, post-punk trio MOD CON, Melbourne ‘supergroup’ of sorts Power Supply, and Ausecuma Beats, an epic nine-piece band featuring members from Senegal, Cuba, Mali, Guinea, Gambia and Australia. Bands coming from across the nation include Tasmanian exploratory post-punk duo the Native Cats, R.M.F.C from NSW and Brisbane-born anomalies Pious Faults. Check out the full lineup below.

Kicking off at midday and finishing up at 1am, there’s something for everyone here with genres ranging from Death Metal to Afrobeat and everything in between.
