Geelong’s cheese bar founder joins top Victorian hospitality figures for flood fundraiser

Victoria’s hottest chefs and hospitality leaders team up for Hospo Hands Flood Fundraiser at the Sarah Sands Hotel

Weeks after the widespread flooding devastated parts of Southeast Queensland and New South Wales, the country continues to collectively hurt with affected communities still in need of help and support due to significant losses of shelter and essential possessions.

Now Victorian’s top hospitality figures are coming together for a special flood fundraiser at Sarah Sands Hotel in Brunswick on Monday, April 4.

Hosted by journalist Dani Valent and Australian Venue Co-Executive Chef Telina Menzies, guests will be treated to three hours of delicious roaming canapes and signature snacks and Victorian drinks in the recently reopened pub, all while local DJs provide entertainment and tunes.

Inviting some of Victoria’s best chefs to come and cook for the cause, the food comes from the likes of Stokehouse executive chef Jason Staudt and pastry chef Ash Smith, Geelong Splatters Cheese Bar owner and cheesemonger Jo Bangles, Yarra Botanical head chef Tony Moss, Wonder Pies & Deli’s Scottish-born chef Raymond Capaldi, Dip King Tom Sarafian, Kirk’s Wine Bar and French Saloon’s Ian Curley, Delia Group chef Daniel Giraldo, plus Matt Woodhouse from Comma Food & Wine, Mike Patrick from Fancy Hanks, and Elijah Holland from LOTI, Saint Moritz.

Victorian drinks will come from local favourites Stomping Ground, Wolf of the Willows and Aqua Boogie.

With 250 tickets available and 100% of the proceeds being donated to FareShare’s QLD & NSW Flood Relief, the event will raise $20,000 for flood victims.

The unique event is an opportunity to dine on food from a range of renowned chefs in one place, while sipping on beverages from some of Victoria’s favourite suppliers.
