Geelong’s own Angus Robb is stepping back into the spotlight with his new self-titled project, as a solo artist with a story to tell and a voice that's more powerful than ever.
Best known as the soulful frontman behind Jack The Fox — whose breakout single ‘Brother’ topped global Spotify Viral Charts and echoed across the stages of Australia’s biggest folk festivals — Robb is now returning to his musical roots after a life-changing few years away from the stage.

The past few years have tested him in ways no tour ever could. From the devastating loss of his mother to cancer, the premature birth of his son, and even a flood evacuation, Angus has weathered storms both literal and emotional. But through it all, he’s found a renewed sense of purpose — and now, he’s channeling it into music that cuts straight to the heart.
His debut solo single, The Old Me, is a stirring anthem about growth, transformation, and letting go of what no longer serves you. Written in collaboration with his wife and beloved Australian folk artist Alana Wilkinson, the track was recorded at The Music Farm in Byron Bay and produced by Wilkinson and Paul Ruske.
“I wrote this song in a real time of frustration,” Robb shares. “I was keeping myself small to keep myself safe and I couldn’t seem to catch these well-worn patterns before they’d already played out. Although now I’m in a different headspace, ‘The Old Me’ has continued to resonate with me as I shed more skins and find new layers.”
Robb’s ability to turn personal pain into something universally resonant is exactly what makes this release so compelling. It’s honest. It’s raw. And it’s unmistakably him. The song has already earned early acclaim, landing in the Top 100 of the Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition, a testament to its emotional weight and lyrical craft.
Set for release later this year, his debut EP — also titled ‘The Old Me’ — promises to explore the themes of love, loss, and courage with the same vulnerability and passion that have always set Robb apart.
Whether you’re a long-time fan from his Jack The Fox days or a newcomer to his journey, this next chapter is not one to miss.
Keep your ears on Angus Robb — Geelong’s voice of folk-soul is back, and he’s got something important to say.
