Geelong’s 6Ft6 is hosting a car boot sale and a Japanese taco pop-up this weekend

After you've filled your boot with cheap wine, pop over to the cellar door for Japanese tacos.

A favourite for wine lovers in the Moorabool Valley and surrounds (renowned for being a great region for pinot noir), Austin’s Wines have created wine for sharing life’s best moments, both big and small, especially with their delicious 6ft6 range.

The 6Ft6 range of reds is a popular bunch: in fact their pinot noir is one of the highest selling pinot noir’s in Australia, and their shiraz is a consistently highly-rated, cool climate wine. Sounds delicious right?

Keep up with the latest local food and booze news here.

Well, this weekend only you can stock up on reds for the rest of winter with 6ft6’s cleanskin car boot sale!

Taking place on Saturday, July 30 (and Sunday, July 31 if there’s still stock), the beloved winemakers will be slinging a bunch of cleanskins at some seriously low prices.

“We’re clearing the warehouse and found some goodies to clear. We don’t typically do sales anymore, however the cleanskins we have found cannot be sold anywhere, except directly to our loyal community (that’s you!).”

“We have strictly limited stock to sell of the following wines, and they will only be available until stocks last on site.”

So what will you find?

You can fill the car with Cleanskin Pinot Noir for $139 dozen ($11.50 bottle), or with 6Ft6 Shiraz for $180 dozen ($15 bottle).

If you feel like making a day of it, the winery’s cellar door in Sutherlands Creek is a must-visit, found inside a converted 1960s shearing shed featuring spotted gum and corrugated iron decor, with sweeping views of the Moorabool Valley.

Currently, NAMA is running an Austin’s Pop Up Kitchen serving delicious Asian fusion cuisine and seriously making this one epic day out. NAMA is a touring pop-up concept with modern Japanese cuisine and drinks, earning a strong reputation across Melbourne and surrounds for the past couple of years.

With a core ‘bar menu’ consisting of delicious share plates, each week will also see an interchanging menu of fresh Japanese inspired dishes. This week you can expect to find charred corn, salmon tostadas and a mouth-watering selection of tacos, including beef rib, crispy murray cod, lamb and cauliflower.

Nama will be serving lunch Friday to Sunday from 12pm-3pm.
