Geelong Nightlife Reinvigorated

Regardless of your opinions of the current state of Geelong’s nightlife, things are set to amp up with the renovations for the Little Malop St area and updates to the Geelong Hotel (formerly known as the Bended Elbow/Bended).
The Geelong Hotel is under new management and is set to have a new contemporary feel. Downstairs will remain as the strong focus for food and drink, with upstairs still to be utilised by Uno Danceclub, with the possibility of some bigger name acts to also grace the space. The new venue is set to open on September 25.
As for the Little Malop St precinct it’s quickly becoming the heart of the city. Pistol Pete’s Food ‘N’ Blues  is set to expand into the store next door, allowing for a designated dining space and gig space. In the same block a cellar door wine outlet is set to open, a restaurant with a rooftop bar atop the space. An open air courtyard will also be factored into the area.
The upgrades to Pistol Pete’s are expected for completion in the next few months, where the more expansive upgrades will hopefully be completed to utilise the summer crowds.
