Game of Thrones’ iconic Iron Throne is touring Australia this month

Feel what it's like to reign when the Iron Throne comes to Melbourne for two days only.

Covered in 1000 swords and weighing a whopping 226 kilograms, the iconic Iron Throne is heading around Australia to promote HBO’s new prequel series House of The Dragon. Set 200 hundred of years before Game of Thrones, the prequel series follows the Targaryen dynasty from the apex of its power to its eventual fall. The throne will be heading to Victoria’s Westfield Southland shopping centre on September 10 and 11.

Created from the swords of Aegon Targaryen’s defeated foes and melded together by dragon breath, the Iron Throne is the seat of the Lord of the Seven Kingdoms. A staple of the widely popular saga, it will feature again in the prequel series House of The Dragon. The throne will be appearing at Westfield Southland on September 10 and 11, near Brioche by Philip.

Confirmed Iron Throne Locations include:

  • August 19 – Sydney Town Hall
  • August 31 and September 1 – The University of Sydney, in front of The Great Hall
  • September 10 and 11 – Westfield Southland, Victoria
  • Further dates are expected to be announced
