Off the back of an extraordinary triple j Like A Version this morning (FYI, ‘Lady Marmalade’, check it out), Melbourne singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist G FLIP has revealed a string of regional Australian tour dates taking in venues across the likes of Torquay, Castlemaine, Newcastle and Cairns.
Having previously sold out all four headline Australian tours to date and with over 86 million streams globally, a refreshed G Flip is showing no signs of slowing down, especially having just been awarded the prestigious Levi’s® Music Prize!
In 2019, her debut album About Us landed at #6 on the ARIA Album Chart, #1 on the Vinyl Chart and scored feature album on triple j. G received three ARIA Award nominations for Best Independent Release, Breakthrough Artist and Best Video. She also scored four places (#6 ‘Drink Too Much’, #58 ‘Lover’, #66 ‘Stupid’, #77 ‘I Am Not Afraid’) in this year’s triple j Hottest 100, was the #4 most played artist on the station and her widely acclaimed debut LP was voted #2 by listeners in the triple j Album Poll of 2019. The mammoth year also saw Flipo’s breakout single ‘About You’ receive gold accreditation while both ‘Killing My Time’ and ‘Drink Too Much’ have gone platinum.
G Flip will play her own regional tour dates this May before heading to Splendour in the Grass in July.
She’ll hit up The Torquay Hotel in Torquay on May 8 and the Theatre Royal in Castlemaine on May 15.
