Air will be joining the ALWAYS LIVE 2024 celebrations, adding to an already vibrant program of national and international names.
French space pop duo Air, known for their mega hits ‘Playground Love’, ‘All I Need (feat. Beth Hirsh)’, and the runway favourite, ‘Sexy Boy’ will be performing a special one-off Australian show at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Wednesday 4 December. The Melbourne exclusive show is part of ALWAYS LIVE, the Victorian Government contemporary music initiative of more than 100 shows running over 17 days kicking off on 22 November.
The exclusive performance will see the duo tackle their debut album Moon Safari in full.

Moon Safari mapped Air, bringing them down from space as they expelling their luscious electronic euphoria onto listeners. The albums retro-futuristic sound catapulted the duo back up into intergalactic territory as listeners across the globe basked in their light beams.
Moon Safari topped the year-end lists of numerous publications and was named one of the greatest albums of the 90s by Rolling Stone; but reflecting on their early days, Dunckel recalled their modest ambitions, “We were a duo doing some electronic thing, dreaming of selling 10,000 copies and being recognized by other musicians as cool. Then suddenly, we met the world.” Now, Moon Safari is celebrating 25 years of transcendent listening. It remains a timeless mood, a sonic haven that bewitches you in a state of bliss throughout. As Dunckel describes it, the album is “a deep, universal spell, full of love and mystery,” while Godin simply calls it “perfect.”
What a way to highlight the album than under the warm Melbourne city skyline at Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
