Extreme excellence in the region has been recognised with the coveted Geelong Business Excellence Awards Hall of Fame.
Each year the Geelong Business Excellence Awards brings together some of the most creative, innovative and thriving businesses that have achieved business excellence in the Geelong region, along with a great number of dedicated local heroes who support Geelong and its tight-knit and loyal community – and what a community it is!
These Awards are the oldest continuously running business awards programs in Australia, and, as such, provide a significant recognition and celebration of business achievement and performance.

After celebrating some of the businesses, Young Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders in the Geelong region back in October last year, the awards have now paid tribute to extreme excellence in the region with the coveted Geelong Business Excellence Awards Hall of Fame.
As business leaders across the Greater Geelong region came together last week to launch this year’s Geelong Business Excellence Awards (entries are now open!), the night also saw Geelong Chamber of Commerce induct four businesses into its hall of fame, for receiving three business excellence awards over the past seven years.
Inducted into the hall of fame were CentreStage, Geelong Gallery, Sketch and Etch and the 18th Amendment Bar.
Australia’s largest amateur theatre company based in Geelong, CentreStage continue to thrive with the support of the Geelong community year after year. The business won the Health Promoting Workplace Award in 2019, the Small Business Award in 2020 and the Health & Wellbeing Promoting Workplace in 2021 – a huge effort for the small local business.
Established in 1896, the Geelong Gallery is one of Australia’s leading and oldest regional art galleries. Featuring paintings, Australian sculpture, ceramics, paper works and decorative arts, the amazing display will keep you occupied for hours any time of the year. The business won the Corporate Social Responsibility Award back in 2019, and the Inclusive and Accessiblity Business award for two years running in 2020 and 2021.
Geelong’s famed 1920s Prohibition-style cocktail bar, The 18th Amendment, is clearly onto a winning recipe, renowned for celebrating cocktail culture while educating the consumer and presenting the classics with a contemporary twist. Founded by Australian hospitality veteran, Gorge Camorra, 18th Amendment Bar has a number of awards to its name, including the Emerging Business Under Three Years Award in both 2019 and 2020, as well as the Hospitality & Tourism Award in 2021.
Locally owned, Sketch & Etch designs and creates one-of-a-kind custom neons, signage and stationery for any occasion. With Ash Bent and Tash Craven at the helm, the brilliant business was awarded the Emerging Business Under Three Years Award in 2018, Retail Business Award in 2019, and the Digital Engagement Award in 2021.
These businesses have demonstrated sustained success by winning at least three award categories within a seven-year period, just wow! Congratulations to all!
