Foo Fighters-themed specials, pizzas and drinks are rocking this Geelong pub for the next week

The Hop Inn is running some epic Foo Fighters specials ahead of the gig next week.

In case you missed it, the Foo Fighters are set to perform in Geelong next Friday for ALWAYS LIVE, the first – and largest – event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. You can read the news here if you did.

Back for their first Aussie performance in four years (we’ve waited here for them Everlong), the 12-time Grammy Award-winning rock band is back but they’re only playing one night and in one city – our city! The exclusive show will go down at Geelong’s GMHBA Stadium on Friday, March 4, with no sideshows or other concerts in the country. They’ll be supported by Amyl & the Sniffers and the Meanies.

If anything could ever be this good again.

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around the region here

To celebrate perhaps the biggest event Geelong has ever seen – and the first time a full-capacity stadium show by any international music artist has taken place in Australia since the COVID pandemic first hit back in March 2020 – one local pub is helping make this moment all the more memorable and is going completely Fooey leading up to the huge concert.

Renowned as lovers of live music, The Hop Inn is channelling their love for rock with a few very special offers that will immediately blow the roof off the place and rock it into rubble.

Right until the concert, the beloved pub will be serving a special Foo Fighters cocktail, their very own Foo Fighters pizza and a Foo Brews on specials! Much like their old-school rock thrill that always promises to be perfectly balanced, The Foo Fighter pizza is a win for flavour with 13 inches of Napoli sauce, mozzarella, chorizo, mushroom and roasted peppers.

Foo Fighters will be on high rotation throughout the venue and to cap it all off, all of their local live musicians will be offering a heavy Foo Fighter theme throughout their sets, helping Fooey fans sing, bob and dance out a few year’s worth of reserved energy. Sam Hanson will be responsible for the good vibes on Friday night, with Marty & Doc on Saturday night and Kessia Brooke delivering the perfect Foo-inspired soundtrack to your Sunday session.

The pub’s projector will be showing the best of Foo Fighters all week so settle in as you may be there Everlong. Plus, for anyone that wears their favourite Foo Fighters tee into the venue, they’ll score a free pot of the delicious Hop XPA. Don’t wait until next year to get into the Hop, this is the week to breakout! The pub has also just launched their new menu so it’s the perfect time to swing by and see what all the fuss is about!

With a wall print dedicated to rock’n’roll’s all-around good guy Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighter’s bandmates, you know this is the place to get you revved up for witnessing their brand of no-nonsense rock and roll in the region.

So, treat yourself with some specials, try your luck at getting tickets to the show and give the band the best, the best, the best, the best of you. Tickets go on sale on Friday, February 25 at 12pm here.

The Hop Inn is located at 611-621 Surf Coast Hwy, Mount Duneed.
