In anticipation of the upcoming shows, Chris Shiflett shared his excitement, saying, “Touring Australia is always a blast and I’m excited it worked out to schedule these solo acoustic shows between the big ones. Better re-string my J200 and dust off my capo!! I’ll be playing some tunes from my new record, Lost at Sea, as well as my last couple records and a few covers. Might have to learn a couple Jackson United ones while I’m at it!”
‘Lost at Sea,’ Chris Shiflett’s latest album, features songs largely written during lockdown. It marks the follow-up to his previous albums, ‘West Coast Town’ (2017) and ‘Hard Lessons’ (2019). Shiflett did most of the recording in Nashville, collaborating with producer Jaren Johnston and a group of talented Americana musicians. Describing the album, he said, “We made a guitar-centric record that encapsulates everything I’ve been listening to over the years, from the most country songs I’ve ever recorded to punk rock and even songs that sound like a California version of The Clash.”
A punk veteran, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and accomplished Americana and rock songwriter, Chris Shiflett has significantly influenced modern rock music during his time as a member of Foo Fighters. He has also contributed to the California-based punk rock bands No Use For a Name and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Shiflett’s latest releases highlight his mastery of country twang and rock & roll energy, showcasing the full range of his musical abilities.
These special shows are a unique opportunity for fans to experience Chris Shiflett up close and personal. Tickets for both Melbourne and Sydney shows go on sale Thursday, October 26, so be sure to secure yours to witness this musical talent in an intimate setting.
