FlourBoy opens in Geelong, dedicated to donuts, pasta, gnocchi and shakes

Your carb-loaded lunches sorted.

When Uncle Donut opened in Geelong’s Little Malop Street, the crowds were so big they had a line down the street with 500 free donuts gone in an instant. That’s nuts, even for a food-obsessed city like Geelong.

Having treated us on the beloved street for so long and being pretty much responsible for our city’s gourmet donut obsession, Uncle Donut has now permanently shut its doors to the Little Malop Street venue, making way for a bright new venue in Westfield.

FlourBoy is the latest – and dare we say greatest – venture for this locally-owned bakery, offering carb-lovers of Geelong a one-stop-shop for donuts, gnocchi, pasta, coffee and shakes.

What. A. Combination!

Keep up with the latest food and booze news here.

Located in level two of Westfield’s Food Court, this delightful outpost combines the best of what we’ve come to love from Uncle Donut with their daily hand-dipped, indulgent treats with a number of Nonna-worthy pasta dishes that are guaranteed to perk you up after a tough day.

Does it live up to the hype? You betcha.

For the donuts, you’ll find a selection of their best-selling round works of art, including the cinnamon, Nutella, chocolate sprinkle, cinnamon scroll, TimTam explosion, original glaze, strawberry sprinkle, caramel Oreo, Gaynetto, Creme Brulee, and Salty Caramel, among others. Donuts are $4 each or you can get six for $20.

For those seeking carb-loaded, butter-drenched pasta, FourBoy has you sorted. Bringing back much of the delights of Big Mamma Gnocchi, a pop-up venture brought to us by Uncle Donut back in 2019, the team will be serving pasta made daily with honest sauces. Simply choose your pasta (gnocchi, spaghetti, penne, macaroni, ravioli or gluten-free), choose your sauce (bolognese, meatballs, carbonara, creamy mushroom, roast tomato sugo, pesto or garlic butter) and if you like, finish with some add-ons. These can include double cheese, mozzarella, truffle oil, bacon, pancetta, salami, olives, smoked chicken or chilli, truly allowing you to customise your meal into the ultimate pasta dish.

A small pasta is just $10 while a regular size is $15 and all servings are served with parmesan – and rightly so. As all good pasta joints do, you can also get garlic bread or cheesy bread on the side.

For the kids, they do a cheeky $7 pasta (any pasta with bolognese, napoli or cheese) or a fun box for $9 that gets you a pasta, donut and drink. Oh to be a kid again.

While all this is just simply glorious, there’s more. The team are also serving delicious milkshakes for just $5. You can get vanilla, chocolate, strawberry sprinkle, mint, Tim Tam, lime, caramel, coffee, pineapple, blue heaven, or cookies and cream AND you have the option to make it extra thick, made with soy, oat or almond milk, or add in crushed flavours like Tim Tams and Oreos.
