Floodlights have had a phenomenal year, clocking over 50 live shows and participating in festivals worldwide. Their headline tours across Australia, the UK, and Europe saw multiple sold-out performances, including two Corner Hotels in Melbourne. Sharing the stage with iconic acts like Pavement, The Killers, and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Floodlights’ live prowess has graced renowned festivals such as Green Man Festival, End of the Road Festival, Tent Pole Music Festival, Harvest Rock Festival, Falls Festival, and SXSW Austin.

The band’s much-anticipated debut at Meredith Music Festival received widespread acclaim, solidifying their status as a buzzed-about band. This success follows the release of their critically acclaimed second album, “Painting of My Time,” in April 2023.

Recorded live on a 24-track tape machine at Soundpark Studios in Melbourne, “Painting of My Time” marked a significant evolution for Floodlights. The album showcases a dynamic post-punk and art-rock soundscape, incorporating trumpet, grand piano, violin, synth, and the iconic harmonica. Floodlights’ emotive and broadened sound found resonance with new fans and earned accolades from The Guardian, NME, Rolling Stone, and more.

The album delves into themes of personal turbulence, self-exploration, and the Australian landscape as a form of escapism. Floodlights’ lyricists, Ashlee Kehoe and Louis Parsons, expressively craft honest narratives, creating a profound connection with listeners.

Floodlights, comprised of Parsons, Kehoe, Joe Draffen, Archie Shannon, and Sarah Hellyer, have crafted a unique identity with their powerful lyrics, impressive musicianship, and an intimate stage presence that resonates with fans. Watch out for this Melbourne quintet as they continue to make waves and push the boundaries of their sound.
