Five of the cosiest glamping stays in country Vic to get you out and about this winter

Words by Paddy Coppinger

Taking the discomfort out of camping, but bringing nature to your doorstep

Yes, John Snow, winter is coming. It’s bloody cold out there. But getting outside, out in the country, is the perfect opportunity to get that R&R that you so desperately need, and support some of those local businesses doing it especially tough.

So don’t let those cold winds stop you from getting outside in nature this year because we have just whipped up the perfect glamping list for you and your closest people to experience country Victoria in the ideal mix of comfort and experience.

Put on your scarf, woolie gloves and beanie, cos we’re getting out there this winter.

Daylesford Skyview Bubble Tent

Nestled on the edge of Wombat State Park in Daylesford, rests Victoria’s first Bubble Glamping experience. Run by a pair of dedicated locals Anita and Richard Payne, this luxury getaway features all the cosy bits and bobs perfect for crafting a decadent country getaway, in your own private, secluded bubble. You’ll get a near 360-degree view of the surrounding woodland in the bubble, which boasts a queen bed with high-quality linen, beanbags and tea and coffee facilities.

Outside you’ll be treated to a wooden deck with log fire, and if it couldn’t get any cosier, a pizza oven, BBQ, outdoor shower and kitchen facilities will keep you occupied for your entire stay. Plus you can work on all those lockdown cooking skills you have, right?

You’ll have a choice of three sizes, with a Bell Tent, Twin Bell or Safari Tent. If you go for their middle ground, Twin Bell, you’ll be treated to a queen bed and high-grade linen, a lounge that can sleep an extra guest, split system air conditioning, a mini bar, coffee and tea and all the trimmings, including rugs, lights and outdoor seating. You’ll have your own separate bathroom equipped with toiletries, and access to beautiful food and wine whilst you soak up all the winery has to offer.

Cosy Tents Glamping – Daylesford

Roughly an hour and a half drive from Geelong, and another entry from the spa capital of Australia on this list, is Cost Tents glamping just out of Daylesford in country Victoria. You’ll of course be able to soak in the surrounding nature and woodland whilst being amongst a seriously long list of additives that’ll make this glamping spot a regular for those who make the trip.

You’ll find queen sized beds with goose down quilts, luxury linen, blankets and throws, bath towels, all the cooking equipment you’d possibly need, in tent lights and seating, a wood-fire stove for the cold season and charging points for your phones. The list goes on but we’re sure this’ll be enough to get you down there and love everything Daylesford and Hepburn springs has to give, whilst being as close as you can to its nature and surrounds. You can also order their brekky boxes so the mornings are a breeze. C’mon guys, what’s not to love.
