Geri & Cork Homewares

Located in Newcomb, this cute little store has only just opened by mother-daughter duo Jane and Miki Cooper and it’s filled to the brim with all the artsy hand-made items you could dream of. Filled with pots, frames, baskets, cards, travel bowls and keep cups, pet treats, plants, wall art, candles, glasses, and cushions, plus so much more. Supporting local designers and makers, there’s a real sense of love in each product that sits proudly on the freshly bolted shelves.

Ampersand

If you know someone’s house is in need of a sprucing, Ampersand is possibly one of the best places to head to. With all your designer, art-inspired deco needs, the person your buying for will have their house looking bright and beautiful in no time. Think canvas and prints, wall hangings, mugs, aprons, cushions, doormats, mirrors, pots and planters, flower arrangements and even glorious bedding and bathroom products.

You’ll also find a tonne of stunning candles, cards, games and puzzles, fashion, footwear, bags, jewellery, cosmetics, pet beds and collars, and even a whole selection of kid’s fashion, bedding and toys. There’s also a few bits and bobs for yourself while you’re there.

Frankie Say Relax

With a stunning flagship storefront on Shannon Avenue, Frankie Say Relax is a bright and homey beautiful lifestyle store with a friendly and relaxed vibe.

With a showcase on home décor, Frankie Say Relax has everything you can think of; whether it’s a designer cushion, framed prints, and pots and players, or furniture, ceramics, a serving tray and fashion and accessories, it’s at FSR. Be sure to check out the range of wallets and purses, they are particularly special. Everything here is hand-selected and curated to suit a wide variety of customers by the owner, Bec Feldman, who brilliantly draws on her Interior Design studies and being a mum of four to select quality gifts and homewares that are on-trend and family-friendly at a price point that is affordable.

Jakk & Co

Alright so this one’s in Torquay but if you’re looking for handcrafted Surf Coast goods, this is the place for you. Opening last year amidst the pandemic, Jakk & Co. is a business that puts community and quality goods first, stocking everything from candles and smudge sticks to underwear and natural deodorant.

Born out of struggles to source products during the pandemic and a desire to support local makers, here you’ll find a beautiful collection of bespoke, individual and eclectic homewares from a range of independent artisans and creators. From ceramics, bath soaks, sheepskin teddy bears, candles and diffusers, to men’s accessories, food wraps, clay masks, and a whole range of stunning products handmade from reclaimed timber from the good humans at Surfcoast Designs.

Jakk & Co. is currently operating out of the Torquay Pharmacy on Gilbert Street, but also have an extensive online range, all of which can be purchased and delivered to your home. Shopping for gifts and supporting local just got that much easier.

GOOSE

This is a store you almost need to set aside the whole day for, as it is chock-a-block with products.

It’s full of cool stuff from books, boots and ceramics to lamps, knits and paintings and everything in between, it’s a mecca for gifts, clothes and homewares. It’s been in the heart of East Geelong since back in 96,’ and they’ve just been getting better and better. They feature a bunch of up and coming producers and designers that’ll make you feel good about spending a lot of money here, proudly showcasing pieces we love and that stand out from the crowd.

Goose is the giftware store of your dreams. There have been many last-minute gifts purchased here, and with the option of gift-wrapping in store, it gets my tick every time.

The Wildwood Collective

Located on Pakington Street, this little creative hub celebrates some of the region’s talented artisan businesses, perfect for when you’re looking for that unique gift.

Here you’ll find everything you need to be the best plant parent you can be, from plant food and protectant spray to stunning handmade pots and vases, and even a selection of macrame plant holders, each handmade by studio owner Tess Cook.

There’s also a stunning range of bath and body care and candles and perfumes. Ensuring you’ve got access to some of the best of our town’s creatives, the space is also home to two independent local designers. Ikigai, which designs handmade clayware for the home, and Ernest and Joe, a family-run designer and maker of handmade jewellery using recycled Australian sterling silver and gold.

Piccadilly General Store

The Piccadilly General Store is the go-to spot for people who love to support and shop local – especially when it comes to gifts. Having just moved into a permanent shopfront in Newtown, this little store is all about sourcing non-mass produced, unique, ethical, locally made and/or designed goods… meaning you don’t have to worry about doubling up on gifts.

Stocking items from all over the country, the store is dedicated to creating a collection of beautifully curated goods from Australian Makers and Designers, providing a unique shopping experience. You’ll find soaps, handmade toys, plant-based skincare, heat and cold packs, doggie snoods, plus so much more!

Quirk Collective only opened back in 2012, but have become one of Geelong and Victoria’s top shopping spots. You can also browse and buy some of their unique items on their awesome online store, shipping’s only $10 too!

Moondust

When Moondust opened in Geelong a few years ago, we were on cloud nine. The quirky gift-ware store was filled with everything you didn’t know you needed. Stocking a range of stationary, beauty items and accessories, there was really a bit of everything with socks, face masks and novelty pens all for purchase.

While the storefront has closed down (still heartbroken), the store lives on, still selling the best bits online. From enamel pins, Korean face masks and avocado socks, to cat collared shirts, quirky cards and Ex-Girlfriend’s Rebellion mugs, there’s a unique gift for anyone.
