Delivering on their promise to warm up nights in Geelong, the Geelong Art Centre’s Winter Escape Season is welcoming live audiences back to the redeveloped Costa Hall, Ryrie Street Building, and beyond to witness a fabulous and diverse array of performances.
Arriving in the arts hub’s 40th year, the new season signifies a slight ‘departure’ from their traditional Deakin University Theatre Season, injecting a renewed sense of artistic energy and excitement into the region, especially when one of Australia’s finest Eurovision exports, Isaiah Firebrace, takes to the stage on Friday, July 2.

Isaiah rose to national prominence after taking out the top spot on The X Factor Australia back in 2016, where his debut single ‘It’s Gotta Be You’ broke records, going Double Platinum in Australia, Platinum in Norway and Sweden, and Gold in Denmark.
The following year, he broke onto the global stage representing Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final with his single ‘Don’t Come Easy’, placing ninth, as well as scoring a signing to Sony Music Australia.
With a string of successful singles to his name ever since, including ‘You’, back in December 2020, as well as ‘Thinking About You’, ‘Know Me Better’ and the duet with Stan Walker ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’, Isaiah remains true to his roots, while tackling the wider themes of love and loss we’re used to in pop music.
At just 21-years-old, this certified-Platinum singer has accomplishments under his belt that would usually come with decades of industry success, including holding the title as the highest-streamed First Nations artist in the world. Absolutely huge.
His latest single ‘Blame On Me’, released earlier this month, undoubtedly validates these successes. The catchy pop tune, written in collaboration with the DNA team (Anthony Egizii and David Musumeci, who wrote and produced many Australian Eurovision entries from Dami Im’s ‘Sound of Silence’ and Isaiah’s ‘Don’t Come Easy’), is already a success in Finland, Spain and Poland, and is sure to set fire to the stage when he comes to Geelong.
Isaiah’s ‘Spirit’ tour is an 80-minute acoustic concert of original songs featuring Isaiah and band members- Music Director (MD), David Taafua, on keys and Emilio Kormanic on guitar- some of Australia’s most talented multicultural musicians.
Expect to be wooed by big pop hooks alongside Isaiah’s earthy feel this July.
