Fire up the group chat, a pop-up gin and spritz bar is opening in Geelong

If you’re like us and love an alcoholic pop-up, have we got good news for you.

Cancel all your plans and fire up the group chat because Geelong has just scored a pop-up gin and spritz bar, right in the heart of the CBD.

Courtesy of Geelong’s 18th Amendment Bar, who have clearly been busy behind the scenes during the latest lockdown, this new venture is set to take over Coffee Cartel (located at 1/80 Little Malop St in Geelong) Friday and Saturday nights throughout spring serving an exquisite menu of Gin and Tonics, Spritz’s and Highballs and Strong and Stirred Cocktails.

With nothing but time on their hands, the bartenders from the famed 1920s Prohibition-style cocktail bar have spent the last few weeks perfecting the likes of the Spritz and creating spectacular Gin and Tonic Pairings for us keen drinkers to enjoy for the rest of the spring and summer season.

“We know this year has been pretty miserable for the community so now that the warmer nights are here we thought it was the perfect opportunity to highlight Gin as a spirit as well as Aperitif Style Cocktails to really quench the summer thirst,” says Australian hospitality veteran and 18th Amendment Bar founder Gorge Camorra.

The Pop Up opened Saturday, September 26 at 5pm, with five perfect gin and tonics that will rotate weekly.

As for the Geelong bar itself, located just metres away from the pop up, it will recommence operations from tomorrow night following the pandemic putting their businesses on hold for some time in line with the strict Government social-distancing requirements to help flatten the coronavirus curve. The venue will be open from Wednesdays through to Sundays, with bookings essential on Friday and Saturday nights.

Keep an eye on their dedicated Facebook page for further details.
