If you’re lacking a good beat and furry animals in your life, it’s probably time to stop denying yourself and head to the Werribee Open Range Zoo’s Rhythm of Africa shows.
Running each Saturday evening until February 27, the shows start at 4.30pm and feature the likes of Ghanaian rhythms of Akoma Beat and the African Royal Drummers, Congolese dance hall music from King Bell and Soukous Ba Congo and contemporary African funk with Afro Mandiko and Lamine Sonko and the African Intelligence.
Zoo tours will run until 6pm, however the African Pula Trail will remain open until 8pm, allowing you to spot hippos, cheetah, wild dogs and more yourself. Hit up www.zoo.org.au/rhythm for more info.
