A fashion parade with a purpose.

The Geelong creative community is once again demonstrating solidarity and support for Barwon Health’s Andrew Love Cancer Centre, with the annual fashion and fundraising event, the 2021 Ena Pelly Catwalk4Cancer.

Originally slated to take place in early August, the event – which is now in its 11th year – was postponed to September in an effort to avoid another cancellation due to the state’s recent lockdowns.

The key takeaways

  • The 2021 Ena Pelly Catwalk4Cancer has been rescheduled to September 4
  • The annual event raises funds for Barwon Health’s Andrew Love Cancer Centre
  • The event will be the first to be held at Geelong’s newest venue, Glasshouse @ Pivot City

Keep up with the latest in local news via our website.

Hosted by the region’s well-loved Barwon Health Foundation on Saturday, September 4, the event will be the first to be held at Geelong’s newest venue, Glasshouse @ Pivot City and will be brought to life by stylist to the stars and previous gt contributing fashion editor Deni Todorovic, who has been appointed creative director.

As for who will be showcased on the catwalk, the glamorous evening will be led by the region’s own leading Australian clothing label, Ena Pelly, who has signed on as the naming rights sponsor, elevating the fashion stakes of the popular event even further.

The top-performing brand at David Jones and The Iconic has more than 100 stockists across Australia and beyond, and opened its first retail store in Geelong in February 2020. The label is also at the forefront of sustainable fashion innovation globally, using world-leading technology to create its sought-after faux fur pieces from recycled plastic bottles.

Ena Pelly owners Dani and Tim Wilkins said they were excited to be part of an event that would support the community’s public health service.

“We’re thrilled to be able to get behind the event to help raise funds for cancer research and treatment for the greater Geelong region,” Mr Wilkins said.

“After hearing about the great work the Foundation is undertaking in the community, combined with our mutual passion for supporting local, it was a no-brainer for us to jump on board.”

Ena Pelly will be joined on the runway by looks from Westfield, Charles Rose, Birdskin, Pearls and Roses and Chez Ma Belle, all styled by Deni, with hair and makeup by Blondie Salon.

Once again raising funds for Barwon Health’s Andrew Love Cancer Centre, which supports adults experiencing cancer with world-class treatment options including radiotherapy treatment, chemotherapy, apheresis unit/stem cell collection, transplant clinic and haematology services, this event will see the community and fashion industry rally together for the greater good.

Alongside the fashion show, a silent auction will go live on Monday, August 23, continuing until Saturday, September 4, so even those who can’t attend on the night can make a contribution.

Absolutely all funds raised will support Barwon Health’s Andrew Love Cancer Centre.

“After a trying year for the community, we are looking forward to gathering for a night of fashion and fundraising to support our community’s vital cancer service,” Barwon Health Foundation Executive Director, Zoe Waters said.

“Over the past decade, Catwalk4Cancer has established itself as a must-attend community event and Ena Pelly signing on as naming rights sponsor for 2021 ensures the bar will be raised yet again.”

Since 2010, the event has raised over $380,000 for the support of cancer patients and their families in our region.

The dress code this year is black, gold and white, and will see the community coming together as one, to celebrate fashion and community spirit, for a truly deserving cause.

So, get behind the Geelong creative scene, enjoy a night out and help raise money for those in need. Attendees also score a gift bag valued at over $200, drinks package, cocktail food and of course, access to the runway shows.

The Ena Pelly Catwalk4Cancer goes down at Glasshouse @ Pivot City, North Geelong on Saturday, September 4, 6-10pm.
