Eyes Wide Open set for last show ever next week

Champions of the local Ballarat scene, Eyes Wide Open are parting ways, but before they do they’re throwing one last gig at Karova Lounge.

Set for Thursday, May 18, the gig sees Winter Valley and Bury Me In Autumn as supports to what will surely be a great (but also bittersweet) event.

The band released the news via socials as they announced their new EP, The Decline, stating:

“As most of you probably know, we haven’t been the most active band recently. As the years go on, life gets busier and things change. Unfortunately, not everything can be sustained forever – especially when your focus is in a million other places at once. It doesn’t take a genius to work out the logical conclusion.

Eyes Wide Open are officially calling it a day as of now. We decided to end it on a high note and we couldn’t think of a better time. A big thank you to all past members – Jesse Horvath, Adrian Sheppard, Jarred “Bazza” Gervasoni and Jason “Wormy” Germon. Couldn’t done it without you boys! It’s been a time. Thank you to everyone that’s ever came to a show, bought merch, sang along or simply gave a shit, it means the world.”

With the timing of the new release and the band finishing up, they’ve decided to make their music free over on Bandcamp. So it’s time to give a shit one last time for the band when they head to Karova.
