Ballarat is set to celebrate the vibrant mix of cultures that make it such a unique and welcoming place to live, with the return of Harmony Fest.
The festival promises to be a dynamic celebration of cultural diversity with more than 20 events spanning over two weeks.
Kicking off today and running until Thursday 27 March, the festival will feature an exciting lineup of activities designed to bring the community together.

Harmony Fest is held in alignment with Harmony Day and the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on 21 March. These observances encourage Australians to reflect on and celebrate the diverse cultures that make the country what it is today.
This year’s theme, ‘Everyone Belongs’, emphasizes inclusivity and community spirit.
Cr Hargreaves highlighted the importance of the event in fostering a culturally aware and socially cohesive Ballarat.
“We are a city that embraces people from a diverse range of backgrounds, which is why events like Harmony Fest are so important,” Cr Hargreaves said. “Cultural diversity should not just be accepted, it should be celebrated, and that’s exactly what this festival is about. I encourage everybody to attend one of the many events on offer, especially the Harmony in the Mall event, which sounds like an incredible day.”
A key highlight of this year’s festival will be ‘Harmony in the Mall’, a free community event held in the heart of Ballarat. On Saturday 22 March, Bridge Mall will come alive with music, dance, food trucks, and family-friendly activities. The event promises to be a burst of colour, energy, and flavour, with plenty to enjoy for all ages.
