Em Rusciano: Unleashing her Inner Evil Queen

A singer, writer, broadcaster, comedian, television and radio presenter, Em Rusciano is a woman of many talents. Co-hosting Sydney’s 2DayFM breakfast show, “The Em Rusciano Show with Harley Breen”, which airs nationally on the Hit Network, the outrageous duo have enjoyed a cult following with their podcast recently reaching number one on the iTunes Charts, while Em’s outstanding singing talent has been well-loved since she landed a top ten place on Australian Idol in 2004.

Since then, Em has been building her comedy empire, establishing herself as one of the most well-rounded and talented performers in Australia. Her new single, ‘Versions of Me’, is already tearing up the charts. Em’s extravagant style and beautiful voice have made her a much-loved icon throughout the nation.

Her first book, Try Hard: Tales from the Life of a Needy Overachiever, chronicles the highs and lows of Em’s life, marriage, and motherhood. With a roaringly funny and heartfelt earnestness, Em’s book received glowing reviews from both critics and fans. Try Hard shot to the top of the iBook autobiography charts, earning her a nomination as one of Booktopia’s Top 50 Australian Authors. Due to its wild success, Try Hard was re-released earlier in November with a new cover, with a flashy new cover and three brand-spanking-new chapters.

Now, Em is taking her unique brand of fabulousness and manic hilarity across the country. After her two previous knock-out tours, Em is holding her largest live performances yet with her tour Evil Queen. Forget Snow White, STFU Ariel, for young Em Rusciano, it’s the villainesses who are really running the show. Em draws her inspiration from the betrayed, vindictive and glamorous women in both her personal life and her performing persona. The influence clearly shows in Em’s larger than life personality and flamboyant fashion sense. Evil Queen is partly confessional, partly cabaret, with a seamless blend of singing and storytelling that is just overflowing with laughs.

This show is all about celebrating the Maleficent’s, the Cruella de Vils and the Ursulas. For Em, these magnificent villainesses taught her about resilience, being true to herself and going for what she wants unapologetically. Not to mention having the best costumes and the most legendary performances. So be prepared you poor unfortunate souls, for black glitter, white wine, spells, songs, unhealthy obsessions and high-end bitching. A raw, brutally honest and roaringly funny performer, Evil Queen is a show you won’t want to miss. Em Rusciano’s last two tours completely sold out, so make sure you get in early to experience this hilarious force of nature live!
