Dust off that old school uniform, Lambys is throwing a huge Labour Day Eve ‘Back To School’ party

The perfect way to warm up to your Tri 1 studies.

Whether you’re in your final year of uni or you’re about to start your degree, O-Week parties are fun, crazy and generally an all-round great experience, complete with dress ups, alcohol, games, and a LOT of new people. With O Week coinciding with the Labour Day long weekend this year, the legends over at Geelong’s legendary longstanding venue Lambys Tavern is giving students the chance to celebrate by upping the ante on their usual Sunday night shenanigans with their massive Back To School party.

The key takeaways

  • Lambys are throwing a Back To School party on Labour Day Eve
  • Students get free entry all night long
  • It all goes down on Sunday, March 7 from 8pm

Going down on Labour Day Eve, it will still be your regular Lambys Sunday sesh with the usual crowd, but this time with an extra generous serving of Deakin kids drinking to forget that Tri 1 is just around the corner and hearty side of full-timers wanting to make the most of that sweet public holiday on Monday.

In true Lambys style, this event is jam-packed with all sorts of goodness: free entry, dress ups, DJs, live music, giveaways, and an endless supply of beer, Mario Karts and Juddys from the bar.

Giving avid clubbers an excuse to break out the old school uniforms they used to despise, the self-explanatory theme encourages a sea of pleated skirts, shapeless dresses, striped ties and oxford shirts (knotted at the waist, of course). The Lamb fam will be giving away prizes for the best dressed too, so get hunting for that old school jumper, raid the op shops or head to Kmart to grab a uniform.

On the decks, CAREW, TVB, AGILE and Jayden Goodwin will be laying out the best dance tracks, while inside Snack Attack will be delivering that live band goodness we so dearly missed in 2020!

Oh, and perhaps the best part of all? Uni students are blessed with free entry all night long, while regular punters will get stitched up with an entry free if you rock up later in the night. If you’re on a budget we recommend swinging by when doors open at 8pm, with free entry for everyone before 9pm.

BYO drinking (school) shoes—this is going to be a big one.

It all goes down on Sunday, March 7 from 8pm. Check out the Facebook event here.

Please note, this is an 18+ event.
