In something that Disney fans have been waiting for a very long time, ever since the cruise’s inception back in 1998, the Mouse House’s first ‘Magic at Sea’ Australian and NZ cruises will depart from October 28, 2023, with the season running through till February 2024.
There will be sailings for two, three, four, five and six nights on offer, bringing all of the magic of Disney to one place at sea, with favourite characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars on board, plus imaginative dining, live musical shows, original theatrical shows and spectacular entertainment.
Restaurant-wise, the dining setup will rotate with different themes each day. Think Tiana’s Place, where guests can meet Princess Tiana herself and enjoy a taste of New Orleans cooking in a The Princess and the Frog-inspired restaurant; an interactive dining experience that celebrates Disney animation with the Animator’s Palate; or a Little Mermaid-inspired Triton’s, which offers an under the sea theme and serves four-course French and American suppers.
On the entertainment front, there’s a Frozen, A Musical Spectacular, featuring an innovative combination of traditional theatrical techniques, modern technology and classic Disney magic; a production dedicated to the company’s old-school favourites like Peter Pan, Pinocchio, and Aladdin; and a Golden Mickeys performance, based on everyone’s favourite mouse.
There’s also a multi-level replica of Andy’s Room from Toy Story, a Marvel Super Hero Academy, a Disney’s Oceaneer Club for the kids, while adults can enjoy an adults-only Quiet Cove pool, Italian dining at Palo, a pub, a cocktail bar and the relaxing Senses Spa & Salon.
There’s also a Mickey party set to DJ beats, nightly fireworks and a pirate party on the vessel’s deck.
As for the rooms, there’s ten different types to choose from and all are designed with style, comfort and a dash of Disney magic.
The inaugural sailing of this limited season in Australia and New Zealand departs October 28, 2023, from Sydney.
Disney Cruise Line’s ‘Magic at Sea’ cruises will sail from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland between October 2023–February 2024, with bookings open from 8am AEST on Thursday, September 29, 2022. For more information, head to the magical website.
