Join multi-award-winning cult choir sensation for a camp musical voyage of beloved seafaring songs from across the globe.
Following a multi-award-winning debut in 2021, The Shanties Choir are coming to the Potato Shed Saturday 4 March to present the Sea Shanty Spectacular.
Inspired by the #1 viral trend on TikTok which saw sea shanties catapulted back into popular culture and rocketing up the charts, this vocal ensemble is putting a modern pop spin on these folk classics.
Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.
The Sea Shanty Spectacular features original a cappella versions and pop remixes of tunes such as the chart-topping Wellerman, familiar favourites like Drunken Sailor and a diverse range of traditional seafaring songs from Europe, North America, New Zealand and Australia.
With music direction and arrangements by Alex Morris (Shania Choir, Geelong Harmony Chorus), and featuring original remixes from Will Hannagan (WILLING), this is sea shanties as you have never heard them before.
Joining in on the fun will be Drysdale’s own Coryule Chorus, performing two songs and joining in on Wellerman.
So, gather your crew and get ready to shake your pirate booty at this evening of rum-soaked tomfoolery.
