The premise? Four lovable grandparents embark on a cruise to let loose and enjoy life away from the demands of family. But, of course, things don’t go as smoothly as planned. From missing their grandkids to sorting out family drama, these grandparents are on a quest to make the most of their bucket-list adventure – and they’re bringing the audience along for the ride.

The show features an interactive experience where the audience becomes part of the onboard fun, creating an immersive atmosphere that guarantees a lively experience for all. Guests will join Jimmy Bigelow, the charming guest cruise director, played by Wayne Scott Kermond, and his fellow Grandparents Club mates as they set sail aboard the SS Grand Times. Along for the adventure are the show’s original cast members: Lynne McGranger (Home and Away) as Liz, Meredith O’Reilly as Maria, and Andrew James as Jeff.
Written by multi-award-winning Australian writer and playwright Richard Tulloch, Cruising with The Grandparents Club showcases his unique gift for bringing hilarious, heartfelt stories to life. Tulloch, a proud grandfather of four, draws from his own experiences to craft a script that is both warm and humorous. “It’s a refreshing change for me to be writing for and about grandparents. ‘Opa’ to four grandkids of my own, I have no shortage of material!” said Tulloch.
The show’s lively musical numbers are the work of acclaimed composer and music director John Field, whose credits include The Wiggles and The Cockroaches. Field brings the sounds of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s to the stage, filling the production with earworm-worthy tunes that will have audiences singing and dancing in their seats.
After the success of The Grandparents Club, Cruising with The Grandparents Club is expected to be another smash hit, filled with high-energy performances, heartwarming moments, and plenty of laughs.
Tickets are now on sale for what promises to be an unforgettable theatrical experience. Don’t miss your chance to join in the fun – this is one cruise you won’t want to miss!
