Crooked Colours and SAFIA lead Ability Fest 2020

Australia’s only fully inclusive music festival Ability Fest is back for 2020 and set to be bigger and better than ever when it takes over Melbourne’s Coburg Velodrome on Saturday, April 4.

The brainchild of three-time Paralympic gold medallist and 10 time grand slam champion Dylan Alcott, Ability Fest is designed to bring music lovers together by inviting everyone – regardless of gender, disability or race – to enjoy some of the country’s best musical acts.

And this year, they’re surely delivering Australia’s best with the likes of Crooked Colours, SAFIA, What So Not, and Seth Sentry leading the lineup.

With the quality music taking care of the vibe, the Coburg Velodrome will transform into a completely accessible venue with the inclusion of elevated platforms, pathways, quiet zones, companion ticketing, AUSLAN translators and ramps to ensure an unforgettable experience for all guests.

100 percent of proceeds from Ability Fest will go towards helping the 4.3 million young Australians currently living with a physical or mental disability via the Dylan Alcott Foundation, with all musicians donating their time to this exciting event. Additionally, in light of the devastating Australian bushfires, a portion of festival proceeds will also go directly towards Australians living with a disability, who have been affected by the fires.

Since launching in December 2017, the Dylan Alcott Foundation has raised in excess of $500,000 for Australians living with a disability, with recipients ranging from seven to 25 years of age in fields such as sport, university scholarships and public speaking courses.

“As a massive music lover, I’ve been to a fair share of music festivals and experienced first-hand barriers faced by people living with a disability in these environments. Ability Fest exists so that anybody, despite their background or disability, can come together and enjoy the music festival experience as a collective community.

“Now, three years in, Ability Fest has become a highly anticipated event that breaks down barriers. The line-up for 2020 is bigger than ever, and I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone on the day.”

Pre-sale ticket registration opens on Monday 17th February, with pre-sale tickets on sale Tuesday 25th February from 6PM. General tickets will go on sale Wednesday 26th February.
